Nothing attracts attention and places us in the buying mood than a great visual display. With July 4th coming upon us fast, now is the perfect time to take advantage of one of the most colorful holidays we have! Who knows, a nice display just may put a nice “POP” into your summer sales! Here are 5 Tips on getting a great display up fast. 1)      Color, Shapes and Fabric – Nothing conjures up good feelings like the Red, White and Blue.  Flags, Banners with stars and stripes, painted wood stars are readily available at local fabric stores (if you don’t already have them). Before going wild with using Red, White and Blue Teddy Bears and Disney figurines, see #2 2)      Pick a Theme – It’s Summertime-  display items associated with summer activities ( fishing gear, baseball memorabilia, roller skates, etc.) and tie Red White and Blue ribbons on the legs of BBQ grills, rocking chairs or other outdoor items. 3)      Location – As close to your entrance and try to position near a surveillance camera so you may review the impact on your store traffic 4)      Walls – Get the red white and blue on the walls, eye level or higher. Where the eyes go, the feet will follow. Adjust store lighting to highlight this. 5)      Measure the Response – You want feedback from your sales associates, even if it’s a conversation with someone who is telling you of their plans for the 4th.  See if your display inspired your guests. Watch your POS for sales of related theme items. Make notes, engage your employees for ideas and encourage participation. You will all be looking forward to the next Holiday!
